Terms of Service

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Synapse.
• By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
• You must provide accurate information during registration and maintain its accuracy.

• Authentication is managed by Clerk. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• One account per person. Creating multiple accounts may result in suspension.
• You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Deletion includes your profile, photos, questionnaire answers and matches. Payment and invoice records that must be retained are handled as described in our privacy policy.

• Event tickets are purchased on a per-event basis. The price depends on the event and selected ticket type. Current prices are shown on each event's page.
• Ticket revenue covers venue rental, organization, and staff costs.
• Tickets are for a leisure event on a specific date, so the right to withdraw from the purchase without giving a reason does not apply. Purchased tickets are non-refundable if you cancel or do not attend.
• This restriction does not affect your statutory consumer rights, including claims if the organiser cancels the event or fails to provide the service as agreed.
• Attendees are expected to behave respectfully toward other participants and venue staff at all times.
• Synapse reserves the right to remove attendees who violate behavioral standards and to ban them from future events.

• Profile photos must be of yourself. No misleading or deceptive images.
• Offensive, explicit, or hateful content is prohibited and will be removed.
• You retain ownership of your photos and content, but grant Synapse a license to display them within the platform.
• Do not impersonate other people or use someone else's photos without permission.

• Matches are generated algorithmically based on questionnaire responses, vector similarity, and other signals.
• Synapse does not guarantee any specific outcomes — compatibility scores reflect statistical similarity, not certainty.
• Match quality depends on the completeness and honesty of your questionnaire responses.
• The matching algorithm may be updated over time to improve results.

• Synapse may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms.
• Grounds for termination include: creating fake profiles, harassment, abusive behavior at events, or any illegal activity.
• Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
• You may appeal a suspension by contacting hello@synapse8.app.

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of Synapse after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
